The Phantom of the Opera

Originally a personal piece but then used as a bookcover for Keep Out The Night, an anthology edited by Stephen Jones and published by PS Publishing in 2002. Included stories by Poppy Z. Brite, Kim Newman & Michael Marshall Smith.

This painting only became The Phantom about half way through. I was just concentrating on getting the atmosphere that I wanted. To start with there was no figure but when I put him in as a focal point there was no doubt as to his identity.
