One of the interior artworks for the HG Wells Classic Collection published by Gollancz. The collection includes The Time Machine, The Island of Dr. Moreau, The War of the Worlds, The First Men in the Moon and the Invisible Man.
With the possible exception of Tom Kidd's version I've never seen an illustration of Well's tripods that captures the proper feeling. I've had several goes over the years and I think this is my best attempt,.............. but!
