Floater

A cover for a PS Publishing short novel by Lucius Shepard.

A Film Noir feeling was needed for this book which would normally be right up my street. For some reason it took me ages to get my head round this and it’s one of the few occasions where I actually started painting without a clear idea of where I was going. It turned out very well in the end. As is often the case, a few days after I completed the painting I found a book of atmospheric, black and white pictures of New York which would have made perfect reference material.
