H.G. Wells Anthology
Originally commissioned for an Octopus Books H.G. Wells anthology, but not used by them. Used on two US editions of War of the Worlds, by Ace in 1988 and Bantam in 2003. Also used in the National Geographic programme entitled Naked Science: Close Encounters and on the "making of" documentary of Spielberg's War of the Worlds DVD.The War of the Worlds is one of my favourite books, but, with the possible exception of Tom Kidd's version, I've never seen a really convincing rendering of the Martian tripods. This was one of my attempts. I think I must have another go soon.
