Cover for the novel Numawari by the Australian zoologist Grahame Webb. The alternative title was Killer Croc. It was commissioned by Fontana but I don't know if it was ever published with this cover. I must have read the book at the time but I can't remember anything about it. I like painting crocodiles and I use them as reference quite a lot. They are wonderfully alien somehow. The image was used on French and German paperback covers
