The Time Traveller at the End of the World

My client was interested in me revisiting an illustration I did in 1979. As he kindly pointed out that's 40 years ago. I wondered if my reaction to re-reading the scene from HG Wells The Time Machine would be different after such a long stretch but I still found myself painting a similar image. It's such a powerful piece of writing that I think it stamped itself indelibly on my imagination when I read it as a kid; and that is a long time ago.
