I saw this guy at the Brighton Pride March earlier in the year. He was selling banners and whistles ( it was very noisy ) and was quite happy to be photographed. I knew it was a great face but when I saw the photo on screen it just cried out to be a painting. I painted it on MDF which I'd never done before. It's a great surface to work on and I loved it. Then I read a whole load of stuff online about how you should never, ever paint on MDF. You can't win.
